Katie and Clayton seemingly enjoy living life on the edge. Well, that’s said with almost no basis in fact, but they did book my services only 6 weeks before their wedding, which is definitely leaving things late for a weekend in August! Fortunately I was free as I’d had a cancelation about a month before. When I met them at Wiston House I asked if they’d had another photographer cancel on them, but no, they just thought that 6 weeks before was fine!
It was great to meet them up at the venue; it’s always such a treat to photograph such an attractive couple at such an amazing venue! I’d not photographed a wedding at Wiston House before, so seeing it perched up on the hill for the first time was quite a view to behold. Both the house and the grounds are stunning, even though we almost didn’t get into the grounds at all… This was a weekend in August when the weather was just savage. It rain basically the whole day, and it was only at 7pm when the clouds finally parted and revealed the most glorious golden light that I’ve seen for a long time. It had looked unlikely for the majority of the day, but it just goes to show that good things come to those who wait!
Wiston House is a perfect spot for a wedding. As well as the beautiful building and grounds, the Great Hall is an imposing setting for the wedding breakfast and dancing in the evening. The mezzanine level gives a great vantage point for some beautiful images. Hope you enjoy this one, it’s was a load of fun! Cx
