Well, this is a little awkward… The vast majority of photographers that I’ve met hate being in front of a camera (me included), and I guess it goes hand-in-hand that they don’t like talking about themselves too much either!
This photo is a few years old now; I’m now a little more grey and come with a few more kilograms, but being father to two daughters will do that to a man!
I HATE having my photo taken, which is probably why there isn’t a more up-to-date picture of me, but that’s also why I understand how it feels to not want to have awkward photos taken of yourself. It’s also why I’ve honed my photography style and business around making the whole process as painless as possible, whilst also creating beautiful images for the lovely couples who trust me with capturing their weddings for them.
Documentary wedding photography prioritises real moments and real emotions. Equally importantly, it removes the awkward, staging and posing that has become synonymous with the term 'wedding photography'. Wedding photography should, in my opinion, serve to enable you to relive your unique day with all the emotions as they happened, and getting the right photographer FOR YOU is key to that.
Not everyone wants the same thing; that's what makes the world such a fascinating place! In the same way, I don't follow the crowd, and I steadfastly do things my own way.
My goal for the couples who book me is to recreate their wedding day for them in a way that will make that laugh and cry over and over again, and have real memories to treasure for a lifetime.
